Our items are mostly Victorian and are not new and there may be imperfections due to the age of the item which we try to show in the pictures. Our items are all used, mostly Victorian and a few vintage. They have defects. Not the first item we sell is perfect. Up for auction is a gorgeous silver plate basket. The basket is marked with the Wilcox Silver Company makers marks along with Quadruple Plate which indicates that it was manufactured prior to 1913 when manufactures of silver plate discontinued the process of using Quadruple plate. The basket features an excellent art nouveau design in both the acid etched silver plate which replicates years of polishing and the traditional shiny silver plate. Together they create an excellent contrast. Each of the four floral motif are reticulated in cut or fret work with lovely dark patina and the center of the basket is monogrammed and framed in with a cartouche of flowers. The silver plate is in good condition as shown in the pictures and the swing handle works as it should. There are no breaks or repairs. It stands about 8.5 inches tall, 11 inches wide and 9 inches from front to back measuring across the base of the handles. We will supply additional information and pictures if the buyer requests such. We do not believe in Buyers or Sellers Remorse. If we sell an item for less than worth we will still ship as part of our agreement but if you purchase an item we expect you to live up to your part of the bargain. Please ask questions.
