front paw was cast in the Bob Marshall Wilderness on the bank of the North Folk of the Sun River in Montana.  It was three seasons of packing in the wilderness, toting a bag of casting material with me, before I found this track.  although the hind feet of the
Grizzly
are much larger than the front, it is the front feet that have long, saber-like claws.
The

, at one time ranged over the mountainous terrain of the entire west coast of North America, but now is close to extinction with few remaining within the Northern Rocky Mountains.
The
Grizzly
is one of the most formidable animals in the world.  They can reach a weight of more than 1200 pounds, a height of 9 feet or more while standing on their hind legs, can run more than 30 miles per hour for short distance, and can kill a man with a single swipe of their huge paw.  The
Grizzly
is one of the largest flesh eating animals and may be the strongest animal in North America.
